Cetyl Alcohol, otherwise known as 1-hexadecanol and palmityl alcohol, is a type of fatty alcohol derived from Palm Oil and Palm Kernel Oil. This material is in solid white bead form and one of the most used ingredients in cosmetic and personal-care product formulation. You will find this on the ingredient listing of a vast majority of your everyday use items such as hair products, moisturizers, soap, and make-up. Cetyl alcohol is used to thicken oil in water emulsions, act as an emollient, and yield a more opaque, stabilized foam. It is a multipurpose additive that can help control the viscosity of a product and also assist in raising the melting point so that a product such as lip stick, for example, binds to the skin. Our bulk cetyl alcohol carries RSPO-MB (Mass Balance) certification, one of four certification levels offered by the RSPO which monitors the trade of sustainably certified and non-sustainably certified palm oil. The Mass Balance certification allows the overall production of both RSPO and non-RSPO certified palm oil to maintain an even balance, hence its Mass Balance designation, with administrative traceability of the input and mixing of RSPO and non-RSPO certified palm oil, but at controlled quantities. voir moins

Cetyl-stearyl alcohol is a fatty alcohol in solid waxy pastille form, white in color with a neutral aroma. This raw material, also referred to as C16-18, cetostearyl, or cetearyl alcohol, is a staple ingredient in cosmetic and personal-care formulations. Through the combination of cetyl and stearyl fatty alcohols, as its name suggests, this ingredient is created and most known to stabilize oil-in-water and water-in-oil emulsions, add opacity to a product, increase or stabilize the level of foam, and raise the viscosity of a liquid. Fatty alcohols, unlike ethanol alcohols, are natural emollients and preserve moisture in the skin and hair. Cetyl-stearyl alcohol is used in the manufacturing of a wide range of cosmetics such as body lotions, moisturizers, creams, shampoo, conditioner, mascara, lipstick, and hair dyes, to name a few. voir moins

M&P Solid Conditioner - MB is a melt-and-pour hair care base manufactured by Stephenson. This solid block is intended to be cut into smaller pieces and then melted down and poured into a mold or container of a formulator’s choice. Once the block is melted and stirred, additives such as fragrance or essential oils, colorants, and conditioning agents can be mixed in to create your desired product. The additives selected must be oil soluble as this base does not contain water. The recommended additive input should not exceed 5% of the product, including a recommended 2% fragrance maximum. The solid conditioner base is largely comprised of cetearyl alcohol and glyceryl stearate, with smaller amounts of conditioning agents such as shea nut butter and coconut oil. Hair conditioning bars have been steadily increasing on the market as consumers seek to reduce plastic packaging.
